no sound

I can't get speakers to work on new Vista with Windows Media Player. All connections are shown to be OK and the Realtek sound card shows to be working.

how about QuickTime???? sound Y/N?

Vista up todate?
Realtek sound card driver up todate?

have you tried
uninstalling WMP & reinstall WMP
