Question

No SLI option in NVIDIA control panel

Sep 30, 2012 10:26AM PDT

Hey peeps,

Im stuck with ideas and hoping someone can help me out please.

Im trying to run SLI with two NVIDIA Geforce GTX 470's, problem is that there is no SLI option in the NVIDIA control panel for me to enable it.

The option is supposed to be under the 3D Settings with the Set PhysX Configuration option but its not

Here is the current specs for both cards, one is MSI brand and the other EVGA (pretty sure brand names wont make a difference)

Now the only thing that i could find is different between them is the Bus Interface not sure if this is the cause

I have tried a clean install of the NVIAD drivers
Updated my BIOS
Checked my BIOS settings for enabling SLI - no option to do so
Even rolled back Network drivers

Any ideas anyone please ?

Just a guess.

I'm guessing the motherboard does not have a pair of x16 PCIe slots. Try a motherboard with those and make sure it notes SLI.

Answer
Coolbits solves SLi

I created an account because I'm hoping this will solve your problem.

For some reason, after everything I've tried from every search, I couldn't find any solution. I just literally found a solution and I'm not sure why this works but it did for me.

Coolbits is the old way to enable SLi. You need to install Coolbits. Follow the instructions here:

http://www.pcmech.com/article/a-guide-to-coolbits/

The images don't work anymore so it's not clear on what exactly to do. Download Coolbits 2.0, find the Registry entry it tells you to, double click "Coolbits" and put the value as 1a

Restart your computer.

Your computer will recognize the SLi. Make sure the SLi bridge is attached to the two cards.

There ya go!

Good luck!
