No sleep or standby after reinstall XP

by cerritos-2 / October 9, 2009 7:14 PM PDT

I reinstalled for the second time on my Medion computer, XP with sp2, using again the origional recovery CD from Medion. But, this time the standby button is greyed and can not be clicked.only shutdown and restart are available.
I went to energy management and this time there are no choices available when going to the tab advance settings.

how do I get or install the standby and/or hibernate and/or sleep buttons when shutting down back ?

When it went wrong the second time before I started to reinstall all my files, I once more formatted en reinstalled XP, again with no luck
John

Need a little more.

Your post told the name but not the chipset or model number. Here's what I would try. Install the motherboard chipset driver package.

Why the extra information could help is that members might supply a link to said driver package.
