No signs of SP2 on automatic updates - why?

Hi there

Lots of other people seem to be getting it but my system - xp home, with auto updates set to download and notify me when ready to install, shows no signs of downloading anything....

Is this normal? Any idea what is causing it? I am in UK.

Regards

I think the first push of SP2 over auto-update is for US only.

I am based in the US and I have seen no sign of any updates regarding SP2. In going to Microsoft's update page, all I get are instructions as to activate automatic update.

If you think of the logistics of millions of XP users trying to download XP2 on the WWW from the MS servers there would be an awful lot of traffic over a short space of time maybe causing problems. MS are possibly staggering availability of downloads to prevent chaos on the web.

Phattdaddy, I agree with you 200%. A couple of million downloads at once? Can you imagine? I'm sure when it's my turn to download SP2, I will be notified.
