Question

No Signal & Reboot Loop After Windows Logo.

Jul 29, 2016 8:17PM PDT

My specs are:
Processor: AMD FX 8320 Black Edition
Motherboard: Gigabyte 78LMT - USB3
RAM: 16Gb DDR3
GPU: MSI Radeon HD 6770 DDR5
OS: Windows 10 (updated till now)

My problem is... pc is restarting again and again after windows logo with displaying 'No Signal' initially.

Sometimes during restart loop it gives display then again 'No Signal' and sometimes it keeps restarting in the background with 'No Signal' message on screen.

I've tried using motherboard display and it didn't worked first but second time it worked.

I also tried safe mode and all but the same problem exist.

I've also checked Connections, reapplied Thermal Paste, removed the CMOS to reset it, tried BIOS settings but after few seconds it shows No Signal when display is connected to GPU.

Please help me.. do I need to change my GPU.. (it's old anyway) or is there something wrong with PSU.

Clarification Request
Tell why you suspect the GPU.

While the 6770 was not known for a light load, I missed what PSU you have as well as if you tried this with a single stick of RAM and BIOS defaults.

Yes I know and I suspect GPU coz it had a problem few months ago... fan was not spinning properly had to repair...

And I had doubt with PSU as well..

It is 500w XPRO

and my RAM is 16Gb (8 x 2) HyperX

I tried single stick as well but no help...

Yes I tried default Bios also.

Reboot

Change the psu first as what you have seems to be some cheap dual rail thing.

Shop for a quality 550/600w single rail unit.

If no help change the gpu.

I looked up that XPRO and found a poor PSU
Jul 30, 2016 7:47AM PDT

It's blurry side panel noted a split +12V rail at 17 and 14 Amperes.
Remember that for stability and life we take a 50% cut on the 14 Amperes with is 7 times 12 = 84 Watts for a GPU that has a TDP Watt rating of 108.

The PSU is suspect. It may have worked for years but as PSUs age, they degrade so the prime suspect is the PSU.

Yes you're right...

You're right about that it's a poor PSU unfortunately i bought it months ago and replaced 2 times already.. it's still in warranty though... any recommendations or suggestions please.

I take it that you are stuck with this PSU.

As such you have no choice but to downgrade the graphics. Look for low Watt cards like the Nvidia 750.

No I can't

I'm a video editor and I can't downgrade graphics.. i guess i have to buy a new PSU plus a good graphics cards which supports CUDA

That these AMD rigs do tend to be shop hounds. That is, while you can correct errors like the PSU, it doesn't mean it won't stop BSOD'ing. I can't guess how or why this rig came to be yours but it's one of the classic models.

My bet is you'll make it better but that's all I'd hope for.

Alright I'll look into it :)

Alright then I'll figure out trying PSU if I can get it from a friend first then I'll think about upgrading further. And honestly thanks a lot for all your support.

Really Thank You Very Much For Help Happy
