no signal on dvi

hi all
i have a gainward 680 tv/dvi which has been working well on vga, but i just got a new LCD monitor, but i cant get a signal from the dvi, all i get is a black screen, is there something i need to turn on, or is there jumpers i need to change, it can,t be the monitor or the cables, i have tried 3 different ones, has any body got any ideas

My LCD devices work this way

You might need to use the front panel controls to select the input device port. This is how mine work.

What resolution are you using.

I had a video card with both analog and DVI, using 1280 X 1024 on analog worked just fine, nothing on DVI, but would run DVI at lower resolution.. Turned out simply to be a defective card, replaced it with same model, and things worked fine in either mode, [different cables, obviously].

Try the DVI at a lower resolution.

thanks for your reply, i have tried it on 800 600 but still a black screen, and no signal, i was thinking if i need to update the bios on the board, its got me beat this time, mingi
