No signal for one digital TV on-air station in Media Center

by rndep / February 28, 2009 3:46 AM PST

I have an HP Media pc with dual ViXS PureTV-U48B0 tuner, and I have it configured in Media Center for ATSC only. All of the local on-air digital stations are received well, except the local PBS. The Media Center does not detect any signal for that PBS station (7-1) no matter how I position my digital antenna. If I connect a tv directly to the same antenna feed, the tv detects a strong signal for the PBS station and receives the PBS broadcasts fine.

When I downloaded MediaPortal and installed it on the same PC, it detected the PBS station perfectly with the same tuner and antenna, but one of the other local DT stations that Media Center played well was not detected at all, plus Media Portal is not as user friendly.

Based on the above, it appears that Media Center does not have the right station/signal setup info for that particular channel, even though it is found in EPG for my area as expected. Any suggestions to try and get that PBS station working under Media Center?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
