Question

"No Service" after battery change on iPhone 5

Jun 14, 2016 1:19AM PDT

I replaced my iPhone 5's battery today following the iFixit instructions. Everything appeared to go smoothly and was trouble fee.

After battery replacement, the device is powering on and charging correctly and all buttons are functioning as well. Wifi connections also work just fine.

However, I can't connect to the cellular network. I have updated the date/time via settings and rebooted the phone. I also reset network settings and finally reset the entire device back to factory settings. However, I keep getting the "Searching" message on the status bar followed by "No Service".

Any idea on what went wrong?

How much does it cost me to change that battery at Apple?

$79

This is why I let Apple do this. If it breaks in their hands, they've fixed it later.
The savings are too small here for me to not let Apple do this for me.
