So THAT is why eating lettuce makes us feel "out of this world". Don't suppose they've thought of dehydrating this perchlorate into powder form to sprinkle on our potatoes, turnips, peas ... etc

OTOH If it's leaching(? arriving) into ground-water they could certainly be in line to get a rocket on that one! They say it's only detectable on the outer leaves of lettuce. No problem then is there.

It's just an oxidizer I think, probably broken up soon as it hits stomach acid. (nt)
