NO "REAL PERSON" TO FIX ERRORS

by jarussell / April 5, 2005 6:01 AM PDT

Used e-bay frequently as a buyer only until some months ago. Problem started when I got an e-mail from a buyer requesting/demanding a $25 refund. Since I am not a seller I ignored. Person became very persistent with "nasty grams" from him as well as e-bay and pay pal to refund his purchase for non-delivery. I tried dilligently to get e-bay to understand that I did not sell anything or post anything for sale even though the person sent me $25 via paypal (on my account report) which I never translated into a real income. Discussing with buyer it became apparent that he sent $$ to wrong person. So, being a good guy, AND seeing that e-bay/paypal would not respond with anything other than another "bounce" to an automated center, I did the routine to release the $25 via my account back to the guy. THEN e-bay/paypal DEMANDED a $15 fee for making a refund on a purchase. No one would respond to my messages so I have just taken e-bay AND paypal off my list of internet companies to deal with. TO DATE I have not and will not pay them a fee for their error, which they so arrogantly ignore through the refusal to place a call to me. (That is only way to do it since there are no numbers to call them and e-mail to them is a virtual cycle around the porcelein trash can).

I find both e-bay and paypal to be irresponsible with other people's money and both have earned my "DO NOT TRUST" label of disgust.
