No power on 7 week old Samsung TV LE40A756

This happened last night.

We were just getting ready to go out to celebrate New Year and when I returned to the room to switch off the TV it was totally dead and with no standby light showing. I can't contact Samsung today and wondered if there was any thing that needed re-setting.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Sorry to hear about your experience.

I'm assuming you've checked the outlet, made sure a nearby GFCI outlet wasn't triggered off, and that the power cord is firmly inserted?

If so, then service is your best bet.

Thank you for your reply I am going to ring the Samsung helpdesk today. There is no GFCI outlet in the house, I don't think we have these in the UK but stand to be corrected on that.

Just to give an update for others who may suffer the same failure.

Contacted Samsung UK on Friday 2nd Jan and the TV was picked up on Wednesday 7th Jan with a diagnosis of a power supply failure.

I have just rung them yesterday, Thursday 15th Jan and they are still waiting for a power supply to be delivered.

So my shiny new TV has so far spent nearly 25% (and counting) of its life not working. I am beginning to be less than impressed.
