Hey Guys,I have a problem.
I have a HP AMD 64 pc ,at start there is no post and the monitor remains black,The fans run but the usb mouse has no power..
No error message or beeps but I haven't heard any for a while,Are they still used?
F2,F12,F10 fail to bring up bios.Monitor remains black.
I have reseated everything and put a new video card in.
I have tried to boot with a linux live disk but no improvement. The optical drive spins up ok though.
Have tested all power points and all ok.
It uses Am3 socket and the first pin hole has a black mark around it which looks suspicious.Would this mean that the motherboard has died?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Sounds like an old dead PC. If you are new to repair google this: "Troubleshooting The Dead PC."
