"No operating system found" message on bootup

When I try a straight bootup after a system crash shutdown on my Windows ME computer, I receive a "no operating system found" message and have to wait at least 12 hours before the computer will reboot correctly. Short of having to reformat or reinstall, are there any possible solutions to this aggravating condition?

Could this be heat related?

What they didn't tell you is if a fan fails, the insides can COOK and you will burn up parts or have to wait to reboot.

If you don't check those fans now, your repair bill may be a new PC.
