Question

No "New" choice in desktop right-click menu

Feb 24, 2018 6:07PM PST

Greetings all, from Brisbane, Australia. Just upgraded to Win 10. I want to put a new shortcut to a program on the desktop. All the instructions say to right-click on the desktop and choose "New". There's no such choice offered in mine. Only View, Sort by and Refresh.

Is there a way to fix this, or another way to put a new shortcut on the desktop?

Regards
Hugh

Why not the other way?

Open the folder to that .exe you want and then hold down control plus shift then drag and drop the shortcut on the desktop?

Can you please point me to one or more of the fixes you mention? Thanks.
