Question

No Netflix audio on Panasonic ST60 &Yamaha receiver

by Chasemanny / August 18, 2014 1:50 AM PDT

No audio through my Yamaha RX-V861 receiver when using the Netflix App on a 2014 Panasonic TC-P60ST60. I've connected the HDMI 2 (ARC) to the HDMI Out on the receiver. Any tips? Thanks.

2 tips.

1. ARC is hit and miss. Try Optical.
2. Apps such as Netflix may not copy or use the TV's audio settings. That is I'm fishing around the app's settings to see what audio settings each app has.

The whole system needs re-thinking in my opinion.

Bob's correct- an inexpensive digital optical cable is all you need. HDMI is not needed since you don't need the bandwidth for the type of audio track you plan on sending back from HDTV (from Netflix, which is at best DD5.1) to your Yamaha AV receiver.

Hint: receiver also needs to be ARC compatible. Yours is not unfortunately.<div><span id="INSERTION_MARKER">http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GFHG3Q6INR7/p_022RXV861/Yamaha-RX-V861.html
