Question

No more Administrator account

Feb 5, 2014 7:20AM PST

I got this PC from a friend and he had the Administrator account. Of course, he didn't remember the password, so I just added a new Administrator account under my name leaving a blank for the password. Subsequently I withdrew the Admin status to my friend and thought it was to be allright. Not so: next day my account had disappeared while my friend's has no more Admin privilege, which means, nobody has it. Today I must install a new program and there is no way. How can I solve this knot? Pleas, advise

If you boot to Safe Mode do you suddenly see an Administrator appear?
