He'll get a pass...
He can say whatever racist or sexist thing pops into his head and they won't mind. He's a fellow liberal.
Nice to see you and Joe agree on something
Also, she's a hot babe. Who do you want to be looking at for the next few years... her or Joe Biden?
racist and sexist????
you have to be kidding us
Thanks for making my point.
the only point you made is
you forgot to read this --> "Just a little good-natured fun"
And YOU forgot to read this....
Oh, jeez, here we go already. With the canny, seemingly good-natured-but-really-a-put-down jokes about a female candidate.
So Joe Biden trotted out the subtly dismissive, isn't-she-pretty line about you-know-who, the newbie on the Republican side. (Translation: There's really nothing else to her to comment about, but I won't say that because I'm not a sexist.)
My point, which flew right over your head, is that if someone on the right, say, **** Cheney had, msde the same remarks we would never hear the end of it from the usual PC nincompoops who accuse every Republican of being a Neanderthal throwback nazi racist sexist pig.
BUT, when it's one of their own...hey, no biggie. That's what the article was about, see?
In other words...
... this is example of where the political correctness fans should be raising there ugly visage but because it is one of their own, they have failed to do so.
So you are saying that the whole failure of the liberal side to make this into a PC issue is hypocritical?
Yes, more or less...
what's good for the goose ought to be good for the gander,
Far too often these concerns are used as a club to bludgeon their foes rather than any genuine concern over the "victims".
What's really funny is...
You didn't get Paul's post either.
He'll get a pass from me, because
it's a funny comment and self-deprecating. Do you think this is the worst there will be??
It's said her CV includes a beauty contest.
(I assume that was before Mayor, etc.) She doesn't or didn't mind being objectified then, in much worse ways (I'm told, about pageants).
Have you joined the innuendo machine too?
"...didn't mind being objectified then, in much worse ways (I'm told, about pageants)."
You're neutral, of course.
No bathing suit round at the conventions, I'm also told.
We've alreadyseen Obama in a bathing suit....
I'd much rather see Palin in one. John and Joe should stay covered up.
Funny. That's what Joe said, and SE
jumped all over him for it.
They "jumped all over him" because he used the sexist remark to dismiss her as a lightweight. That is what the issue of the "glass ceiling" and so in is all about.
I put them all on an equal footing.
I forgot- everything said from now on
fits someone's preconceptions.
How unAmerican of me to forget.
That did not make sense to me.
And, hey, can I pick a candidate,
....Fred Thompson was quoted yesterday saying we'd be surprised at how articulate Sarah Palin is when we hear her speech, and when the camera was on the audience I saw conventioneers wearing buttons that said things like "McCain and the Hot Chick in '08." I wonder how Palin felt about that, being that her speech was partially intended to assure people that she should be taken seriously.
Since she obviously has a good sense of humor....
she probably got the joke that you obviously did not.
Josh, there's a difference between good natured support...
...and condescension - and you know the difference.
...some people's lust for power overruling their supposedly deeply held principles...
