Question

no internet on Wi-Fi, use to work WINDOWS 10

Sep 16, 2017 12:39PM PDT

there is no internet connection when connected to a Wi=Fi hotspot until I manually insert an IP address into the WiFi adapter properties after starting the PC. (I found this fix on youtube, it seems only to be a temporary fix)
Once I do this I can connect and disconnect to WiFi (and have an internet connection) until I restart the PC.
My adapter is
Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6200 AGN
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, no fix

I ran into this.

It was not only DHCP like Kees noted but an out of date driver. I went my laptop maker's web page to get a current driver. Windows own driver system didn't work.
