What does "ipconfig" say?
Jun 29, 2012 10:12PM PDT

This should be a simple process of ruling out whether or not you have a connection to your broadband modem through your router if you have one. Use "ipconfig /all" (no quotes and space between the g and /. Tell what happens. Also, look in device manager for your Ethernet controller and make sure it's says it's working. I can tell you that device manager isn't always correct and, if you want to get fancy, you do a loopback test at the Ethernet port but let's do the simple stuff first.
