Question

No internet access on all devices

Jul 21, 2015 2:43AM PDT

Hello
Yesterday out of nowhere my internet connection was lost.
I'm using tp-link router (tl-wr740n) which is connected to ethernet through a wall port.
I live in university dorms, other students who use the same ethernet connection have no problems.
When i connect via wifi (router) it says that the ethernet cable is unplugged or broken but its not, when i tried connecting my laptop to the ethernet port (the cable is directly connected to the laptop and not the router) it's still not working but not because the cable is unplugged or broken (i tried troubleshooting but got nothing).
I tried rebooting and resetting my router but nothing is working.
I have the same problem on 2 different laptops and 2 phones.

Help please

The unplugged message is normal and can be dismissed. But it can annoy folk that don't understand Microsoft's way of things.

Since all laptops and phones are not working, my bet is there are problems with what provides this access.

if direct connection is not working

if the direct connection is not working from the wall port, contact whoever is in charge of the campus internet service and have them check the wall port. It can be bad.

A wire goes from wall port to wall port, daisy chained together and wherever a short happens, or a wire breakage, everyone down the line is cut off. Your room at the end of hall?
