I have Vista at work and have problems with it since I got the new computer. I always try out the newest versions before customer really get the feel of the new OS's mainly because I like to know what to expect from it. I have to say that Vista is not that great. I would not recommend it at all until they release SP1. I have also reformatted my computer and installed XP Pro, and have had no problems what so ever out of the machine. Hope this helps you out ![]()
As a PC technician it is a crucial time for me and I would like any input because my customers and friends count on me. As for Vista(I like to call OSXP)which the geeks will get, but for the rest : The pre released version I worked with seemed to merely be a combo of XP and Mac OSX. In true Microsoft form they innovated pre exsisting products. OK what Im really trying to understand is I used to advise people to get whatever New PC they wanted and I would configure it using info from there old HD etc. However now the NEW retail model's come with some form of VISTA and I wouldn't go that route yet, as it would be easier to Format and install XP. Is it that simple? Or are there soft/hardware conflicts either purposefully or nature of technology. Of course there is the Apple route which is exciting for some, but intimidating too many others?
