No headphones

by Tushar_Afuwale / December 27, 2009 3:39 PM PST

I have a home theater DVD player (Philips HTS3565) with no output for headphone. I wish to enjoy movies late night without disturbing others at home. I have following questions in mind:
1 - How to connect the Headphone to the DVD player OR TV (connection between RCA jacks and 3.5mm male pin of the headphone)
2 - Once successfully connected, will the speakers too play the sound?
The TV does have Audio OUT (RCA Jacks)

Help me.

the only problem would be length depending on the headphone wire length & where you sit. You would just then get 2 RCA's at XX ft long to extend the RCA's on the back of the tv or find a male to female 3.5mm extender wire*** at XX ft.

For the tv, you have to goto the audio menu of the tv to turn off the speakers, everytime.

Thanks for the tip. It was really helpful. I was just wondering if the sound from the DVD home theatre (all the 5 speakers) would still play even after the headphone is connected What I mean is if I have to unplug all the speakers to listen to the headphone, then its not worth trying.

How is DVD/reciever hooked up to the tv?? HDMI I hope ?

What happends when you turn down the audio all the way down on the DVD/reciever combo unit and turn up the tv speakers? This all depends on how the tv is hooked up.
