No HDMI

I have a Sanyo 28" Wide Screen 16:9 HDTV, with output upto 1080i, will I be able notice the differance between 1080i and 1080p on this set? I think I read somewhere, the screen has to be 50" or more to notice. Also this set has no HDMI, only component, i'm not sure if they didn't include it because of screen size. This set was originally for the bedroom, until I can afford a 40"-50" plasma or lcd hdtv. Thanks for any info.

What is the native resolution of this TV???
I'm just guessing but it may be 720p. If so then that is what it will display, 1080i will be down scaled to 720p.
With out knowing the model # of the TV it is hard to say. John

The model number is HT28745 on Sanyo's website. I know this model is discontinued. I believe the native resolution is 1080i.

It helps so much when you give the model#.

Yes this is a 1080i set, you will have to use component for all HD input. 1080p/24 will only be on HD-DVD/Blue Ray players. I'm waiting for winner before I buy.
Just enjoy your set. John

with the built in hi-def tuner in your Sanyo and a good outside antenna you will receive your local hi-def channels in 1080I and it should look great also with the componit inputs your d.v.d. player and sat system should work great but forget about 1080P I dont think anyoneopne would notice the difference between 1080I or P unless they were watching a huge screen size good day steweeeeeeeeeeee
