I have a lg flat monitor, it only displays once and shut down but not completely because I can see icon very dimmed, Ihave tried to set up resolutions , brightness you name but nothing appearing clear, cables connected correctly as well.What could be the problem

Does this occur on only one PC? Then it's a settings issue. Or does it happen on all PC's? Then the monitor might need repair.

Sounds like the backlighting on the display went out. Test it with more than one unit like Kees suggested, but if the problem persists then replacing the monitor is really the only solution. If it's still under warranty, let LG replace it, otherwise at least these days LCD monitors are pretty cheap.
