No desktop icons

by fireguyinont / October 9, 2007 12:09 AM PDT

My aunt just called me and said she turned on her computer and there were no desktop icons on her screen. What could have caused this and how do we remedy this problem. She is running Win 2000 pro. Thanks in advance

1. Safe Mode. If that works I dissect what's running from what's not in normal mode.

2. 2000 has no system restore feature but relies on your knowledge of the OS. I will as well. I will work from the premise you are a Pro since that's the users Microsoft intended this OS for.

3. Boot Safe Mode and create a new account and move the user to the new account.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
