No Delete Button in Add/Remove Programs of Control Panel

by firya87 / December 20, 2008 6:33 PM PST

Dear CNET Members and Moderators,

To remove Softwares we go to Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. But, in Add/Remove Programs, I get strange numbers along with the current software loaded in the computer. But I do not get "Delete" or "Repair" command button. I only get the "Software's Name" along with its "Size".

What is the problem? Have I deleted any important file? What
should I do? Please suggest.

My computer Configuration is as follows.
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Intel Pentium D 3.00 GHz
RAM 1 GB

Thanks a lot

Hightlight the program's name by selecting it (clicking on it), then the "Change/Remove" button will appear.

If that's not the problem, then I'm at a loss.

Dear CNET Members,

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. I checked out the links given and through "REGEDIT", HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Program Name,

I found only 3 softwares which are installed in my computer but didnot have "NoModify" Nor "NoRemove" so I used "RegistryFix". I was successfull for the 3 softwares. What about others. Where will I be able to find all my other softwares.

Thanks a lot

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
