Enable Cortana on the Windows 10 lock screen
by Pillplo / September 27, 2016 1:04 AM PDT

Open Cortana (Shortcut: Windows key + S) and go to Settings.
Turn on the option for "Let me use Cortana even when my device is locked."
You can also let Cortana respond to "Hey Cortana," but it's not mandatory.

Appreciate the reply but I already made those setting changes and Cortana still doesn't show on lock screen. However it works fine from task bar.

the best solution would be is to disable the lock screen, unless, you are among other people while working on your PC.

Same here. Odd steps to get it working here.

I had to click on the Cortana on my start bar, then the microphone icon and it FAILED with "I can't connect." So I tried again and it worked. I then pressed Win+L to lock the screen and then "Hey Cortana" worked.

To me this means it's a typical Microsoft quality product.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
