For these problems I remove the hard drive and put into some USB case. These are plentiful at newegg.com so I won't post an exact model.

I just found my old Toshiba Satellite T1900 laptop, and I want to look through it and see if there're any files I want to transfer over to my modern computer. Unfortunately, there's a power problem. I can't get the "DC IN" light to stay consistently on to run the computer. It will start to turn on but turns off the next time the DC light turns off. I tried switching the native AC Adaptor for a universal power pack (with the correct settings) I have, and I tried switching outlets, but the same problem keeps occurring. What's the problem, and how do I fix it?
