Question

no clear-cut ranking list in ed ratings

Apr 1, 2012 6:36PM PDT

i search for free software say, UMplayer. 5*. November 28, 2011 reviewed. Product ranking: #3 in Video Players. but there is no easy way to find a list which shows the players, say, in ranked order.
not sure given the review dates whether the rankings are up to date as earlier dates have higher rankings. makes it hard to choose without reading and testing each software offer and recording its ranking which may not correspond to the ed ranking of 5*.
these inconsistencies make the optimal choice confusing for this newbie.

Answer
I assume you are talking about CNET Download.com...

and "ed" stand for "editor"?

If you go to video player listing page here:
http://download.cnet.com/windows/video-players/

You can do a sort by using the drop down menu on the gray bar at top, is this what you are looking for?

Let me know.

Thanks!

the vid player was only an example of the confusion
Apr 3, 2012 12:34PM PDT

between ed ratings
and ranking among items and date of review
I could not find a list of rankings easily for each or any item I was searching for.
the editors rankings only show the 5 * items.
but each item has a different rank if you look at it carefully.
so I wanted to find out which was the highest and other ranked items.
there is no such list.

then some reviews are old.
so my confusion is are the rankings on each item for the whole list say 3/245 on this item updated as new reviews are made?
which might override old rankings?
