Or the motherboard. The hard drive is a under 99 buck fix. The board means the end of the machine.
Bob
I have an HP G50-112NR Notebook PC, purchased in 11-08.
Two or 3 times a week, after I let it stand (unused) for a couple of hours or more, the screen is black with white text reading "no bootable device." I press "Enter" and some Options pop up, including 2 or 3 ways to Start in Safe Mode (which would Format the OS Hard Drive) and "Start Windows in Normal Manner."
I always select the last one ("Start Windows. . .") & it reboots with no problem. Also, I have (temporarily) not used Power Saving settings for certain reasons.
Anyone have any idea why a computer, as described above, would go dead?
