Question

No backlight on Samsung Galaxy Ace. What can I do?

Apr 11, 2014 5:07PM PDT

Hi!

My Samsung Galaxy Ace seems to be working fine except that the backlight doesn't work. It used to come back on with a few hits of the phone, but now has gone all together. If anyone has any ideas as to how I can fix this (myself), I'd really appreciate them.

I suspect....

.....that there is a loose electrical connection to the backlight display or a a defect in the circuit board for that feature. I suggest you take to a phone repair center. Is the phone still under warranty ??

Replace digitizer?

Thanks for that. Any idea whether replacing the digitizer will fix a problem with a faulty circuit board? I've taken it apart and , to my untrained eye, it doesn't seem to be a loose connection.

This is why you take it in to be fixed

These devices are not nearly as easy to troubleshoot as the older stuff.

I would definitely NOT replace the digitize unless that part was known faulty.
