No Available Space When Trying to Copy to Harddrive

by kmanship / January 29, 2009 10:39 PM PST

I just got a new PC with Vista about 3 weeks ago. I am getting a message saying there is no space available when trying to copy from my old external harddrive(D:) to our new Vista PC(C:), even though when I check the disk space it says I have 255GB free.

I am getting the same message when trying to copy from (D:) to a blank double layer DVD.

FYI - My D: (old harddrive) is full. Do I for some reason need to have some space available on the drive I am copying from?

Anyone seen this before?

Thanks for your help!

But let me warn you that Vista's DVD media recording is not trustworthy. It's new and I'm back to using other titles again. The lesson about DRAG TO DVD BLANK MEDIA is not worth repeating.

As to the external drive, try freeing up some space. I haven't heard if Microsoft considers this a bug or even an issue.
