No audio when tv is switched on!!!

Sep 17, 2010 4:12PM PDT

Why is it that my Samsung TV when turned on, it will stop all audio from coming from my pc (hdmi) to my reciever?

Its a temporary tv for now but still very annoying!

Connection diagram: PC > (HDMI) Pioneer Receiver > (HDMI) Samsung TV.

stuntsy99,

What model of TV do you have?

Cam you explain a little more of what you're trying to do, and if you're trying to get the audio through the receiver or the TV?

My Guess

My Guess is that your Pioneer reciever has auto sensing when it detects a signal coming from a connected HDMI device. Perhaps you can shut that feature off. You can test my theory by using any other HDMI device output and turn the power on for that device. The only other thing is that the device may need to produce anduio and video when turned on. Just having turned on a DVD played may not trigger the switching on the reciever.
