No Audio In Dubbed video

Hi,
I wanted to put my old vcr videos in a dvd. I have an old Panasonic camera that uses those small vcr tapes. So I pluggeg it to my Sony DCR-DVD805E digital camcorder and started dubbing from panasonic to it. Everything worked perfectly. When I play the dubbed video in my SONY CAMCorder it is super with good audio. Now I wanted to edit this video in my PC. I copied those video using Sony Picture Package into my PC. The video is excellent but there is no audio. I opened one video in Adobe Premier Pro and it did show an audio track with all the sound graphs. Why am I not hearnig any audio? Do i need a codec. I have checked my system and every other audio plays fine but none of the video audios. Would you please help me.

PC: Pentium Duo Core 3.6 ghz ; 2gb ram; WinXP pro sp2 ; Nvidia 7300XT graphics card;

Camera Models : a)Panasonic NV-RX7EN that uses small Tapes(old camera)
b)Sony DCR-DVD-805E Digital Camcorder

Separating Audio from Video

In reply to: No Audio In Dubbed video

I had this problem when I imported videos taken with my digital still camera into my edit software. There was audio in the original file, but when I imported it into my video editing software (iMovie on my Mac), the audio was gone. I discovered that the audio was imbedded into the video and therefore did not exist as a separate audio track on the original. I used MPEG Streamclip (free) and it "demuxed" the audio from the video (created a separate audio track from the original video). MPEG Streamclip is available for PCs. This program will also convert many video formats into others so you can use them based on what your edit software needs.
