NO 1gb ram for hp zd8000

Feb 10, 2005 11:21PM PST

Just as I decided I was gonna get the zd8000 after months of searching for that perfect laptop, they stop offering 1GB of ram as an option. So its either 512mb which is too little for me or 2GB which is too expensive. Whats a man to do Sad . Now im back in a pickle because my second option was the Toshiba P30 but it seems the prices on those went up a tad bit, I cant seem to get all that I want for under $2300.

Any other suggestions anyone? Maybe if im lucky then they will bring back the 1GB option by next week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

1. Order with smallest RAM or just a single 512M stick and then add it yourself.

2. I would not suggest Toshiba for a year until they work out of their static funk issues. If it wasn't for that, I would had written.

1gb available in made-to-order HP 8000

As of Feb. 10, the ready-to-ship model comes with
2 X 512 sticks. Of course, you may not want one or more of the prepackaged options.

The options seem to change periodically, so if you can wait it out, you may see the 1 gb available again.
