Well I finally regained control of my printer. I had to disable Nitro Pro from the printer queue, and this let me set the Epson as the default printer in the device manager. Nitro Pro is still a printer option when I select "Print" in my word processor but it's down at the bottom so there will be no reason to click on it. Still, I would feel better if there was a way to totally remove it from the system. I would appreciate any help on that.
I have Windows 10 and an Epson WF-2530 printer. A while back, I downloaded the trial version of Nitro Pro 8 PDF software. Somehow, it set itself as the default printer option. I usually just ignored this, canceling the PDF I would inadvertently create when I wanted to print something, then select the Epson printer.
After a few times, I got tired of this and tried to uninstall Nitro Pro 8. For some reason, it didn't want to leave. I went into the program folder and deleted everything, then went into printer settings and removed it from the printer choices, but it would still show up. Since the program isn't operational anymore, it's essentially holding my printing hostage right now. I use OpenOffice for my word processing, and when I select "Print," the program freezes. Same thing with Adobe Acrobat, and now when I go into Control Panel and click on "View Devices and Printers," even that freezes. I uninstalled and reinstalled OpenOffice, and I even downloaded the latest version of Nitro Pro so I could uninstall that, hoping it would sweep up the remnants of the old version, but that didn't work either.
I want this vile program gone. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks.
