Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360

Jul 31, 2006 7:34AM PDT

Yea so I'm getting a new game system but i'm not sure what to get. All i know is i'm not getting the PS3 (too expensive)

But i'm leaning towards the 360 because i have an xbox right now.

But i'm still not sure.

It would be great if i could get some suggestions.

My take in 2009

You'll be waiting a mighty long time for a $150 PS3.

If you're not really into gaming..go for the Wii.
If you are into gaming..invest in an Xbox 360 or a PS3.
Either of the two are good gaming machines.

Xbox 360=Lots & lots of games..plus media capabilities etc.

PS3=better machine plus as of now..a growing library of games, blu-ray ,free online gaming, browsing & media capabilities etc.

As far as quality..PS3=better machine
I'm on my second Xbox 360. I was an Xbox fan since the first one..but I now play my PS3 more often.

I own almost all consoles so I think I can make a fair assessment.

This is for anyone considering in 2009.

Get a 360

The Wii is a novelty with few games that will maintain your interest in the long run. The Wii really is only fun when you're playing with several other people in person. Everyone I know who has the Wii got tired of it in a few months and pretty much only played Wii sports. Only little kids & grandparents seem to really stick with it.

The 360 has the best selection of games among all of the consoles. I'm not really into arcade games, but there are a huge number available to demo & download. Nearly all titles seem to have demos available for download too. 360 has exclusive titles that I like too (Halo & Gears). The large number of titles means that there are also a good supply of used games to buy as well.

Also, the 360 is a far more robust multi-media device. Netflix on demand is a great service and I often rent movies as well.

I was thinking of getting a Wii and PS3 in addition to my 360, but I barely have the time to play all of my 360 & PC games, let alone have time to add more games to the queue. I'd get the PS3 over the Wii for its BluRay capability.

If you're a real casual gamer or really into the motion controller thing, then the Wii may be for you. IMHO.

All gaming is good! Have fun!

Buy a 360
Jan 13, 2009 1:02AM PST

Here's my take. If you're a casual game fan. Someone who is easily amused, and childlike in your behavior. Buy a Nintendo Wii.

If you have played video games before, possibly you had a Playstation, Xbox or Dreamcast. And can appreciate a quality game complete with amazing graphics, a strong online community and options. Buy a 360.

So it's pretty simple. If you're 8 to 15, go get a Wii. If not, grab a 360. Trust me on this. You don't need Wii fit or the bowling game that bad.

Your welcome-

system

it doesn't matter which system you get. xbox live or wifi on the wii doesn't change anything. sytems are created to have fun not to argue between which one is better.

Here here

Here! Here! I always say to people to look at the games for each system and pick the one with the most that THEY want to play. What good is a console that can do all these neat whiz bang things, if you're not interested in any of those whiz bang things?

Wii

I would say Wii without question. I asked Jacob at school why Xbox360 was better than Nintendo. Here's a short summary of the conversation.

Me: All Xbox360 has is 1st person shooters
Jacob: No Xbox360 also has racing and sports games
Me: Well Nintendo has Metroid prime which has weapon and suit upgrades and not just random weapons lying around and you need EVERY last item to complete the game. It also has MarioKart which has REAL obstacles and stage hazards. And its sports games are exactly like the Xbox360 except for the controls. Plus it has several other franchises such as Kirby Zelda and Sonic.
Jacob: Well the graphics are better and its realistic.
Me: What kind of comeback is that.
And the debate was over.
If somebody gave me that same response that at home, I would show them the middle of a Halo 3 speed run on youtube and say "You call THAT realistic?!"

One more thing

Saying that the graphics are better as evidence is like making a life- sized golden gate bridge out of toothpicks and gumdrops and suspending with string and having an elephant walk across it. I'm dead serious.
