Nintendo Caps the Wii price at $250 - Confirmed!

May 25, 2006 10:59AM PDT

Hey All!

So nintendo did it, they confirmed today in their annual financial report that the wii's price would be capped at $250( USD i'm assuming). now, this is the maximum price nintendo said they'd release the Wii at, but that doesn't mean that it can still be a $200 release price. Thus, it's up to nintendo if they want to chop of the $50 dollars right off the bat when they release the Wii. Nintendo has been known to never really take a loss on their hardware, so i guess it really depends on the actual manufactoring price for the wii. Lets keep our fingers crossed for a $200 price!!

Furthermore, Reggie has just be promoted to Nintendo of America President, so he is no longer Head of Marketing. It's all up to him now, when it comes to nintendo's say state-side.

at 200 if i was out and i could actully buy one... i would have jsut picked it up with out thinking twice...

but the 250 price tag i have to think about...

basically i would get couple controlers, and a game or two...

i don't know why the 50 make that big of a difference but it does...
