Nintendo all alone?

Nov 29, 2005 9:20AM PST

hey guys!

It's Dan from T.O. (toronto), and i was just wondering. The nintendo revolution is supposed to creat a new "revolution" in the gaming market, and nintendo is known for doing that in the handheld system with the DS. But does anyone think the Revolution will have as much hype as the Xbox 360 or the PS3? Why is it that Nintendo is so huge in Japan, but over here in the N.America, all their screams are covered into whispers. Cause common, that remote for the Revo is so Freaking CooOOL! Imagine swinging a sword as Link in the Legend of Zelda, the dream of any true Zelda fan. Even Time Mag put Revo second on it's "Amazing devices" list (i know that's not what it's called, but i'm just saying) and the xbox 360 wasn't even in the top 10 of that list. So basically, why do people shun nintendo so? even when most of us had a nintendo at some point (common, NES anyone?)

I don't know

Why does the media tend to cover violence over good will? The world may never know.

I guess we'll see what happens at E3 next year.

Why do they cover violence more? Simple, because of ratings. That's what their viwers want to see, so that's what they show.

More info needed

First of all, there isn't much info about the Reveloution out there.

Second, Nintendo seems more family oreantated (sp?), so that's probably why their not as popular. Not to mention their next system won't be as cutting edge as the others.

Personally, I can't wait to here more info on the Reveloution. I am very interested in the ability to play emulated versions of other Nintendo systems on it. They'd do a good job too. They have already done good in porting games to newer systems. Take, Super Mario All*Stars, or SMB games on Game Boy, for example.
