Nikon vs Canon

What are the merits of each system?

I asked this question of the photographers over at http://www.photocamel.com and got lots of answers, but I wanted to see what you tech-savvy folks would say.

I'm sure that you did get a lot of answers but ......
were they useful?

Your question is much like asking the merits of Ford and Chevrolet.

For useful information you need to be more specific.

...I want the definitive answer. Which is better, vanilla or chocolate ice cream. And I'd like that served up with tons of empirical evidence.

Nikon vs Canon

For many years I have used both Nikon and Canon. Both are great.

The secret is to read the spec sheet of the particular camera on the Web before going to the store. The fine print about the Zoom, CD size, battery type etc. is important. Also Kodak has some new cameras that are impressive.

Let me know what you select
