Which

The Panasonic TZ7 (also known as (aka) ZS3) is considered a compact large zoom camera.
While the Nikon P80 and Sony H50 are larger cameras with even bigger zooms.

Here is a comparison of specifications for the three cameras:

Here is a comparison of several big zoom cameras including the Nikon P80 and the Sony H50:

Sony H20, Sony H50 and Panasonic DMC TZ7

Ofcourse, I am confused and need advise to buy and this is b/w Sony H20, Sony H50 and Panasonic DMC TZ7.
I have done my homework and knows that
-- H20 is cheap, giving 10x and that is fine for me, will not come in pocket
-- H50 is clostly, giving 15x and that much I will not be needing, will not come in pocket
-- DMC TZ7 is very clostly, giving 12x and is cool, and comes in pocket

My requirement:
-- Cost
-- Re-sale value
-- will be able to take family, outing pics, do recording, get used to camera's so that after a year I would start the photography

It's an electronic device

So, that means that resell value will not be good for any of them. I've never owned a used point and shoot and haven't met anyone that's bought one. The technology changes so fast that the camera is obsolete and only worth a fraction of what you bought it for.

As for the cameras, if you want to save money then buy the H20, but if you want the best performance and image quality then buy the TZ7.

Accepted your point related to re-sale.
Can you please advise if I should go for Sony H20 or H50 (Irrespective of comparison that both are 2 optical zoom and video quality is more better than H20)?
Also between H50 and TZ7?

Thanks in advance,

OK, here's something to think about

The H50 gives you more zoom, NightShot, and a remote control.
The H20 has better video and is cheaper and easier to carry around.

The TZ7 is better at both in performance, image quality, and is easier to carry around.

You'll have to make the final decision.

Good Day,
Firstly, thanks for meaningful short reply.

U have any suggestion for me to buy Ultra zoom. Following may give you the picture of my requirements:

Budget
* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible. -><- $390 t0 $430

Size
* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
-><- Can fit in pocket or jacket (Just like Ultra zoom cameras)

Features
How many mega pixels will suffice for you?
* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x) -><- Ultra zoom (min 10X)
* How important is ?image quality? to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
-><- 9
Do you care for manual exposure modes (shutter priority, aperture priority, manual)? -><- No

General Usage
* What will you generally use the camera for? -><- Family pics @birthday party and outing pics (I want to get used to camera so that I can buy DSLR)
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? -><- No
Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? -><- No
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? -><- Yes

if you really want to learn photography

Then buy a DSLR. Unfortunately, your budget would limit you to a kit lens only, which doesn't give you much reach.

Even though I have a DSLR, I still find a good point and shoot necessary. From your requirements, I'd look at any of the Panasonic super zooms or Canon SX20.
