Question

Nikon p100 but or older Olympus e-300 2 lens kit

Oct 4, 2011 2:24PM PDT

I have a Nikon P100 but not very satisfied with picture quality. I'm Wondering if a Older DSLR would be better since it has a larger sensor. I'm considering a Older Olympus e-300 with 2 lens kit. So basically i just want opinions. Thanks

Answer
Not a good move, IMO

The E300 is just too old; any gain in size is lost on six years of sensor development. Plus, if you ever wanted to get other lenses for the Olympus, well, the selection is pretty poor. I think used is definitely a good option, but a newer and more mainstream camera would be a better choice. What is your budget?

Well. once i sell the p100 i'll have $250 total to spend which isn't much, but i was thinking about maybe a Used Canon SX1is, too.
