Resolved Question

Nikon or Canon

Sep 8, 2011 8:14AM PDT

I have a Canon 60D for my main camera and want to pick up a point and shot as a second camera for a upcoming trip to Washington DC, Gettysburg and several other Civil War battle fields.
The two P&S that are within the price range I am looking at are the Nikon Coolpix S6100 and the Canon A3300.
The cons I see on the S6100 is there is noise at all ISO settings. It also has touch screen that doesn't impress me, but I can live with that.
I couldn't find a lot of info on the A3300 other than the buttons are flat and hard to use.
This will be the first P&S I will be buying for myself and I know very little about them.
Any advise would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Wayne

That was what I was looking for.
Will check both cameras out online some more and go pick them up, take a couple pictures with each and then decide.

Nikon S6100

After picking up, looking at all the features of not only the two cameras but a few others, I decided on the Nikon S6100.
I took pictures inside, outside, shade and sun and never saw the noise problem as reported with this camera. It takes great, sharp pictures
The sales person there said he had never heard of a noise problem with that camera.
The touch screen is not hard at all getting used to, but that little camera has a 202 page users guide so learing the features and how to use them may be a challenge.
