Nikon lense question

Jun 5, 2008 8:43PM PDT

looking to buy a nikon d 80 DSLR does anybody know if the lense from my nikon N 80 35mm will work? Its a AF Zoom- Nikkor 70-300mm f4/-5.6G
If my old lense would work, it would save me some $$ (then I could but gas in my truck).

Yes, the 70-300, f/4-f/5.6G lens will work on the Nikon D80.

Since the D80 sensor is smaller than 35mm, when using that lens on the D80 it will appear to be 105mm - 450mm focal length.
(you use a multiplier of 1.5 to get the D80 focal length).

But you will be saving less than two tanks of gasoline for your truck.
That lens sells for about $135 new.
We may have to start riding a bicycle so that we will have more money for camera equipment.

For Nikon Lens Info go to KenRockwell.com

Tommcarty: Ken Rockwell has one of the best camera/how-to sights I have seen. Ken tells you you everything you need to know about equipment and how to use it. He is very informative and also tells you why and why not to use all the settings on your camera. His owners manuals for Nikon users are brilliant. Try his lens section to find out if he answers your question and if not ask him. Hope that helps. Regards Johan
