Nikon G300 and a bargain?

by taboma / March 29, 2008 4:51 PM PDT

Well, I bought a Nikon G300
The kit comes through with a Nikkor 70-300mm, 18-70mm and a 50mm lenses. Included are a camera bag, tripod, 2 close-up and wide angle lenses, 3 filters, flash, 4 gig extreme flash card, cleaning kit, tripod and other goodies.
I could not pass it up on ebay. NEW.
Cost was $2,199. I thought that it was a bargain.

The company is
I hope I have made a wise choice. Not sure weather the lenses are VR or AF.
I am not absolutely sure if this is a good deal or what.
Probably not. Not at this price. All lenses are Nikon.

I think the lenses are something that I can learn on during the summer months before heading off to Germany for 12 days of vacation.
I can always save up for a Nikor AF-S70-200 F.2.8 VR next year that Jump and others recommended.
What do you think concerning my purchase?

I also want to try out my AF 35-70mm 1.3-4.5 lens also.
Close-up photograpy will still be good with this lens.
Who cares about the wide angle! Never had it there to begin with. Super lens and my favorite to try on the D300.
