Where the extra money is in D7000 is the tougher magnesium body, a pentaprism viewfinder, more physical controls for faster access to commonly used settings, a much more sophisticated auto-focus system for tracking moving subjects, a larger capacity battery, a built-in focus motor for mounting lenses that do not have a AF motor, and faster shooting performance.
