There are two kinds of blur. One is caused by not being able to hold the camera steady. The second is caused by too low of a shutter speed. Your poor photos are probably a combination of both. In a school gym, the lighting is lower than what your eyes perceive, i.e your eyes are more sensitive than your camera. To get a properly exposed photograph requires a balance between the camera's sensor sensitivity (expressed as ISO), shutter speed, and aperture. The Nikon L110 does not allow you to control shutter speed or aperture. The only thing you can do is the raise the ISO. I do not know how your camera is set up from the factory or if there is an auto ISO feature, but assuming there is not, go to the shooting menu and see what the ISO is set at. The L110 has ISO ranging from 160 to 1600, and up to 6400 at three megapixel resolution. If the camera is preset at 160, try raising it to ISO 400 or more. Just be aware that the higher you raise the ISO, the more grainy photos will look.
Hi! New to the forum. do any of you have a Nikon Coolpix L110 and if so, what quality of pics are you getting? A lot of my pics come out blurry, especially if it's in a setting like a school gym. Maybe lighting is the problem? If you could give me some tips I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks!
