Use the Nikon 8700, it is a very nice camera.
You won't find them built like that any more.
Compact Flash readers are available for under $5.

The Nikon 8700 can use Compact Flash I or Compact Flash II cards.
But you will hard pressed to even find a type II card.
The type II card is actually a tiny hard disk and is thicker than the type I card.
Most card readers can handle either.
I have a Nikon Coolpix 8700 that I recently dug out of an old box. It has an old-style large CF card that won't fit in the smaller CF card ports of my 3 computers. I can't find an adapter that reduces a large card to a smaller one - only the opposite. I found a memory card reader but don't know if it will fit this card. The informaton I've found on this camera only states that it has a CF card - but it doesn't state which size. Any idea what size card this large style is and how to get it to load pics on my computer withou the data cord that came with it (lost it)?
Thanks
