If the LCD can still display the menu, then it is most likely that the CCD sensor has expired. That is the device that acts as your film.
The repair cost would exceed the value of your camera.
It appears that it is time to start shopping for a new camera.
My Coolpix 2100 functions properly for everything....except taking pics. The monitor screen remains black...it used to show what the lens was seeing...now when I turn the camera on...nothing. When you hit the shutter button the flash works, camera clicks, but no pic. Any ideas on what's happening, or not happening here?
