The software :
PictureProject Remote Control for Nikon COOLPIX 8400 and 8800, doesn't exits or not available yet!! which are the same.
I bought this camera hoping to use throught my computer ussing the software that Nikon is publishing since many months ago. The specs of the software is great, but the point is that it doesn't exist YET!!.
Nikon should be more responsible with his tricks to sell.
Also the camera doesn't come with the power adaptor and the charged battery life is very short, in other words if you want to download a large files from the camera, you must buy the power adaptor from them , because the battery may not last to the end.
For the money and quality I will go with Canon G6, ..... MUCH BETTER CHOICE!!
While the 8 MP CCD allows high resolution pix, and the 512 MB Compact Flash card holds more shots than I ever need, when it comes to a money shot, I still rely on my excellent Canon AE-1 motor drive and my two zoom lenses. We all like to use what's in our comfort zone, and it will be a l-o-o-ong time before a prosumer digital camera will replace my 35 mm camera. Digital camera makers need to focus on simplifying digital cams instead of loading them down with features that duplicate the various image editing programs, the same features that are on my Epson photo scanner. A note to camera makers: KISS. If you don't know what that means you should build something else. My biggest regret is selling my Hassleblad 500C/M
